MSUM Professor is this year's Professor of the Year

Dr. Russ Colson received the honor from The Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching. Colson has been teaching at MSUM in the geology department for the past 17 years. He's in Washington D.C. today accepting the award and speaking at a luncheon to all state winners.
“I’m looking forward to being with a group of faculty who are as excited as I am about teaching and getting their ideas and learning what they think and how they see the world.”
It's the first time a professor from a state university in Minnesota won the award.
The award professor Colson received puts MSUM ahead of many schools throughout the country. Since 1987 9-MSUM teachers have received that Carnegie Foundation Professor of the Year award.
No other private or public school in the upper midwest has more recipients of the award. MSUM even has 6-more Carnegie award winners than the prestigious Princeton University.
