MANDAN, N.D. (AP) — Mandan's deputy police chief says the investigation into an October shooting that left one man dead could be forwarded to prosecutors for review in a couple of weeks.

Twenty-two-year-old Xavier Thompson was killed and 25-year-old Steve Voegele (VOH'-guhl) was injured during an Oct. 2 shooting outside a party. Police say an argument over the whereabouts of an iPod music player likely led to the incident.

Mandan Police Deputy Chief Paul Leingang told the Bismarck Tribune that investigators are reviewing information to make sure all questions are answered. He says some evidence remains at the state crime laboratory for testing, while other information has been returned with results.

Leingang would not comment on whether he thought charges would be filed.
