Black smoke north of the metro was from a controlled burn

Oakport Township, Minn. (WDAY TV) - For hours this morning a black cloud of smoke hovered over the north side of the metro. Construction crews are clearing a section of land in Oakport.
The fire pile is made up of mostly trees and pieces of an old demolished barn.
The area floods nearly every year, construction workers told us the watershed district is cleaning up the area.
