A Building on the National Register of Historic Places is now going to be a memory.

"I hate to see it come down if it has to come down it has to come down," Duane Anderson of Crookston said.

As the hotel that was built in the 1800s and home to many businesses in the past slowly comes down, some in the crowd remembered their time in the hotel.

After many years of complaining about the look and smells of the building, Polk County decided that it was time for the building to come down and some are wondering what that area will become.

"Probably just a parking lot which we do need parking in downtown Crookston. I don't know if that's they way to get it is tearing down an old building,"

The non-profit group, Prairie Skyline, made many attempts to save the Wayne without any luck.
