The city is looking at if he leaked confidential crime scene information in a double homicide, among other violations. By law, officials aren't allowed to release many details.
The police department finished its investigation, and then forwarded the case to both county attorneys for possible charges.
“But because I work for the city as their city prosecutor and not Joel Hewitt’s, that's the reason to refer it over to them.”
Hewitt has not been arrested. Prosecutors and police will not say what charges could be filed against him.
