Fargo bankers spend the night outside to bring awareness to hunger and homelessness
Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - It was a warmer than normal November night for a group of bankers to spend the night outside in boxes, bringing awareness to hunger and homelessness in the area.By: WDAY Staff Reports, WDAY
About a dozen employees from Choice Financial huddled around a bonfire for the "Box Out Hunger" event. Employees will sleep outside until 10:00 tomorrow.
They partnered with the Salvation Army to kick off this week-long campaign to raise food and money for the needy.
"They served over 65-thousand meals last year and if we can help with just one of those meals and bring a little bit more awareness to the issue that we have here in town, and everyone thinks its Fargo, not a big city, we don't have a lot of that stuff but unfortunately. We do have that."
Choice Financial will be taking food and monetary donations at all locations through November 15th, and then serving that food to people at the Salvation Army on the 16th from 11:30 to 12:30 pm.
