MEDINA, Minn. (AP) — Months after a devastating tornado struck Wadena (wah-DEEN'-uh), a benefit will be held this weekend to help the still-recovering Minnesota town.
The Wadena Relief Benefit will be held Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Medina (muh-DYE'-nuh) Entertainment Center in Medina.
Music will be provided by the White Iron Band and the Backseat Boogie Band — featuring St. Paul City Councilman Dave Thune (thoon) on lead guitar.
A silent auction will feature items such as a football signed by Minnesota Vikings defensive end Jared Allen and a hockey stick autographed by the Minnesota Wild team.
All proceeds benefit the Wadena Relief fund. Tickets are $40 at the door.
The June 17 tornado that hit Wadena destroyed more than 260 structures, including the high school.
