GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) — A federal judge says the case of a man charged in an armed holdup of a Gilby bank is ready for trial.

Clifton Patterson of Grand Forks is one of three people charged in the May 2009 robbery. William Collins and Debra Jensen have pleaded guilty and are scheduled for sentencing later this month.

U.S. District Judge Ralph Erickson originally had ruled Patterson incompetent to stand trial, but the judge says recent medical reports have deemed him fit for court proceedings.

Erickson set Patterson's trial for Dec. 7 in Grand Forks.

Authorities say Jensen bought a shotgun that was used by Collins and Patterson to threaten a teller.
