KINDRED, N.D. (AP) — A man is in custody in southeast North Dakota after he barricaded himself in a garage and warned authorities he had access to weapons.

Cass County Sheriff's deputies went to the Kindred home about 3:05 p.m. Saturday after receiving a report of domestic violence. Capt. Rick Majerus says 39-year-old Robert Bodin was in the home he shares with his wife and father-in-law.

The wife and father-in-law were removed from the home and nearby homes were evacuated.

Bodin was arrested about 2:30 a.m. Sunday after Red River Valley SWAT deployed gas to the area where he was barricaded, forcing him outdoors.

Bodin is being held on charges of aggravated domestic assault, aggravated assault on a police officer and resisting arrest.
