Child Abducted From Aneta School Bus Found; Mother ArrestedA Las Vegas woman was arrested tonight on I-29 in Fargo after authorities scoured Eastern North Dakota for her following the abduction of a 4-year-old child from an Aneta school bus today.
Nelson County Sheriff Kelly Janke says 35-year-old Jaqueline Kiesat was arrested and charged with violating a court order. Three others with Kiesat are being questioned in Cass County and may be charged with abduction.
Regional sheriff's department authorities, the FBI and Minnesota law enforcement issued an Amber Alert as they searched for Kiesat late this afternoon after the 4-year-old child was taken from an Aneta, ND school bus. Authorities say Kiesat is the child's mother; however she does not have custody of the child and a court order prevents her to have contact with the child.
Deputies set up staging areas at North Dakota/Minnesota border crossing roads in search of Kiesat's red pick-up with Idaho license plates. Authorities believed Kiesat was trying to take the child from North Dakota to New Hope, Minnesota. An APB was put out for Kiesat's vehicle which was located after hours of searching early tonight driving near Fargo. Kiesat was arrested and charged with violating a court order. Three others with Kiesat are in Cass County being questioned and may be charged with abduction.
The child was placed in protective services.
