GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) — The University of North Dakota hockey team has landed a recruit from the U.S. National Under-18 Team.

J.T. Miller is a 6-foot-1, 198-pound forward from East Palestine, Ohio. He also had been considering playing for the Plymouth Whalers of the Ontario Hockey League.

Miller tells the Grand Forks Herald that he thinks UND is the best place in the country for hockey players who aspire to get drafted by an NHL team.

UND now has verbal commitments from the top two scorers on last year's Under-17 Team. Last summer, forward Rocco Grimaldi chose UND over Notre Dame and Denver. Under-17 Team forward Miles Koules also has committed to the Fighting Sioux.
