Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - A local group is catching the attention of the Department of Homeland Security. Red River Resilience teaches people how to bounce back from adversity, and adapt to life's challenges.By: WDAY Staff Reports, WDAY
Today, David Myers, the Director of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives, with the Department of Homeland Security, wanted to know why it works so well.
The group teaches people to cope by using the acronym FACTS: Foster hope, Act with purpose, Connect with others, Take care of yourself, and Search for meaning.
“We've had a major kind of problem, in personal kind of life, to employ those kinds of facts, as well as a community, to say this is where we were down, but we've bounced back because we employ these kinds of skills.”
Red River Resilience is sponsored by the City of Fargo, the North Dakota Department of health, and several other organizations.
