City has paid over $13,000 while still looking into allegations against Fire Chief
Moorhead, Minn. (WDAY TV) - Moorhead Fire Chief Joel Hewitt is still on paid leave from his position. So, how much money is the city paying while it looks into allegations against Hewitt?By: Todd Kurtz, WDAY
Joel Hewitt's current salary is just more than $86,000 dollars. He's been on paid leave for 8 weeks now which means he's still been paid more than $13,000 dollars.
Hewitt's accused of leaking crime scene details from a double homicide case. It's from a Moorhead fire in February of this year.
Hewitt's lawyer says it's hard to imagine his client could even know the crucial details since he didn't go into the burning building. Phone calls to Hewitt and Moorhead's city manager went un-returned.
