Candidate for Minnesota governor throws his support behind flood retention(WDAY TV) - Exactly 2-weeks from today, voters will go to the polls. Today, one of the candidates for Minnesota governor was throwing his support behind flood retention and mitigation in Moorhead.

DFL-er Mark Dayton was joined by Congressman Collin Peterson and Senator Keith Langseth at the Marriot in Moorhead. The three talked about using flood retention to cut down on the size of a possible diversion.
Dayton says he'll do whatever possible to secure flood funds, if elected to office.
"I pledge my support, if I am elected governor and the state of Minnesota's support, do our part so we can solve this for Moorhead and for this region and the region north of here."
Peterson says if they finish the Farm Bill by next year, securing 50 million dollars in funding. They will be able to start on projects in the Red River Valley as soon as 2011.
