Detroit Lakes man receives kidney from his daughter-in-law
Detroit Lakes, Minn. (WDAY TV) - A Detroit Lakes man is recovering from a transplant. A procedure he was able to have because of the generosity of a family member.By: WDAY Staff Reports, WDAY
4 months ago, Dennis Bowman was told he'd need a new kidney. On Wednesday, he had a successful operation. Bowman's donor is his daughter-in-law. He didn't ask her to help; she called him and said she was willing.
“She told me that ‘I lost my father when I was a very young lady and I'm not going to lose you so if I can help I will’ and she was the helper.”
Bowman will stay in Fargo the next four weeks for re-checks. His daughter-in-law was released today.
