Walhalla man dead in weekend shooting in Pembina

PEMBINA, N.D. (AP) — A Pembina man is in custody after a fatal shooting over the weekend in the northeast North Dakota town.
The 25-year-old suspect is jailed in Cavalier. Formal charges were not immediately filed.
The Pembina County Sheriff's Office says the body of 19-year-old B.J. Kalis of Walhalla was found outside a residence Saturday night.
Sheriff Brian Erovick told the Grand Forks Herald that authorities recovered a weapon. He declined to give more details, citing the ongoing investigation.
