129 dogs removed from Bowman County breeder

BOWMAN, N.D. (AP) — Two animal rescue organizations have removed 129 dogs from a Bowman County breeder. Another 60 might also be removed.

BOWMAN, N.D. (AP) — Two animal rescue organizations have removed 129 dogs from a Bowman County breeder. Another 60 might also be removed.

The Bismarck Tribune says Bowman County Sheriff Rory Tiegen (TY'-guhn) has not identified the breeder because the breeder has not reached a deadline to come into compliance on quality of care issues.

Tiegen says the breeder voluntarily gave up the dogs to animal rescue groups from Mandan and Jamestown.

State Veterinarian Susan Keller also is involved in the case. She said it is still an active investigation and declined comment.
