Canadian man sues ND hotel over water slide

GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) — A Canadian man is suing a Grand Forks hotel for injuries he allegedly suffered on a water slide in 2007. Randy Hooker of Winnipeg, Manitoba, says an attendant at the Canad Inn was not in place at the bottom of the slide when he rode down on a tube.

Randy Hooker of Winnipeg, Manitoba, says an attendant at the Canad Inn was not in place at the bottom of the slide when he rode down on a tube. Hooker says the attendant should have prevented his tube from flipping over in the receiving pool.

Hooker says he suffered severe and permanent injuries to his head and neck. He's seeking damages of more than $194,000 for medical bills, lost wages and other economic losses, and at least $75,000 for physical and mental injuries.

Canad Inn officials were not available for comment.
