MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — A gymnastics instructor is accused of touching girls inappropriately at a Plymouth gymnastics academy.
Thirty-seven-year-old Gergely (GUR'-gay) Deli of Rockford was charged Friday in Hennepin County with three felony counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct.
The complaint alleges that Deli slipped his hands under one girl's leotard about four times "when spotting her during handstands."
The Star Tribune reports two other girls also claimed that he'd placed his fingers under their leotards.
When a fellow instructor confronted Deli after seeing him help a girl stretch, he allegedly attributed the incident to his problems with carpal tunnel syndrome.
KARE-TV reports the alleged victims range in age from 10 to 11 years old.
Deli was in jail Friday in lieu of $100,000 bail. His first court appearance is set for Monday.
