Extreme Home Makeover: Preparing the former Grommesh home for a new familyMoorhead, Minn. (WDAY TV) - 3 days to the reveal of the Extreme Makeover for the Gromeshes. It's not the only makeover in Moorhead. The Grommesh's old house has a new home, for a new family.
As the spotlight remains on the progress of the new Grommesh home, hundreds of volunteers have worked tirelessly since Monday preparing the old Grommesh home for a new family to live in it.
Bobbi Marcil: "That’s why I’m glad we got sent here, because I didn’t realize this was all going on and yea this will be cool."
Bobbi Marcil is a friend of the family. The home was moved to this site on Monday. Since then Marcil and other workers put new bricks and windows on the home along with landscaping.
Bobbi Marcil: "I thought you just plopped a house on and you're good to go but, yea they are painting and doing lots of stuff."
Although this operation is not 24-hours a day, volunteers have worked late hours preparing this 19-hundred square foot home for a cleaning crew to make a final check of the home tonight.
Zach Johnson: "It’s pretty cool because not a lot of people know about it and they don't always give out two houses."
As the week winds down, these un-sung heroes are gearing up along with Extreme Home Makeover to change the lives of two different families. The new family will be given the keys to the old Grommesh home Saturday.
