BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — Authorities say a South Dakota man has been sentenced to six months in federal prison for stealing a pickup from the Sitting Bull College in Fort Yates.

U.S. Attorney Timothy Purdon says 34-year-old Jesse Village Center was sentenced on Thursday. Village Center also must pay more than $13,000 in restitution.

Village Center pleaded guilty to a charge of burglary in June.

Authorities say Village Center broke into a garage at the school in November and stole the pickup. He drove the vehicle to a casino near Mobridge, S.D., and was identified on the casino's video surveillance.

Authorities say Village Center abandoned the pickup near Isabel, S.D. The pickup sustained front-end damage.
