Car driver dies in Minn. school bus crash

APPLE VALLEY, Minn. (AP) — The Minnesota State Patrol says the driver of a car is dead after rear-ending a school bus in Apple Valley. No students were hurt.

APPLE VALLEY, Minn. (AP) — The Minnesota State Patrol says the driver of a car is dead after rear-ending a school bus in Apple Valley. No students were hurt.

Apple Valley police say the bus was waiting to make a left turn about 3:30 p.m. Monday when a car rear-ended the bus. The car then went into the ditch, and the woman driving the car was killed.

KSTP-TV reports police say the bus driver and the 19 students on board were not hurt. The students were traveling home from Scott Highlands Middle School in Apple Valley, St. Joseph School in Rosemount and Faithful Shepherd School in Eagan.

The name of the car driver was not immediately released.
