BLOOMINGTON, Minn. (AP) — The Minnesota AFL-CIO opens a three-day convention in Bloomington Sunday by hearing from Democrats including U.S. Sen. Al Franken.

Also speaking are congressional candidate Tarryl (TEHR'-uhl) Clark and Secretary of State Mark Ritchie.

More than 500 delgates are expected to attend the 50th constitutional convention of the state's largest labor federation. The Minnesota AFL-CIO has more than 1,000 affiliates representing more than 300,000 unionized workers statewide.

DFL gubernatorial nominee Mark Dayton is slated to address the group on Monday. Dayton won the AFL-CIO endorsement last month after he won a contested Democratic primary.
