Moorhead scoped out another 8 million dollars its hoping to get from the Minnesota DNR to finish home acquisitions and flood projects.
The city already pegged 31 million for that type of work. 8 million of that are local dollars. The Moorhead City Manager says the goal is to get 38.8 million. He says flood prevention projects like clearing out flood prone homes means the city can respond to a flood using less time and money.
“We probably have the best data we have yet in terms of who needs the bags and where they gotta go.”
Money coming from the DNR is state money that flows through the DNR for water projects.
