World class business facility coming to Concordia CollegeMoorhead, Minn. (WDAY TV) - Concordia College is building a new, world-class business school scheduled to open in 2012! It comes after the school's largest single donation ever. More on why it's unique and who it's named after.
We got a peak of what the new Offutt School of Business will look like. It's named after Ron Offutt, a local businessman and Concordia College Alum. Offutt provided the lead donation for the 50 million dollar project.
The confidential amount is the largest single gift in Concordia's history. The business school will focus its studies around a few major themes including ethics and global reach. The dean of the school says the world needs more ethical business leaders. Offutt says the school was President Pam Jolicoeur's vision.
Ron Offutt/donor: “I believe in Concordia's mission. Now, more than ever, the world needs ethical business leaders; leaders with integrity in the entrepreneurial spirit.”
Business is already the most popular major at Concordia. The facility is expected to open in the fall of 2012. Almost 37-million has been raised so far. Offutt graduated Concordia in 1964 and is the chairman and CEO of R.D. Offutt Company and RDO equipment. He also chairs the Concordia Board of Regents.
