Flooding closes Interstate 35 south of Owatonna

OWATONNA, Minn. (AP) — Interstate 35 has been closed south of Owatonna due to the flooding in southern Minnesota.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation says I35 is closed in both directions between Minnesota Highway 30 and U.S. Highway 14 because of flooding near the I-35/Highway 14 interchange.

MnDOT says southbound I-35 traffic should go east on Highway 14 to Claremont, south on Dodge County Road 3, west Highway 30 and then back to I-35.

Northbound I-35 traffic should use the same route in reverse.

MnDOT says motorists should expect congestion, long delays and avoid the area if possible.
