BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — A tooth from a Tyrannosaurus rex dinosaur and other fossils were discovered this summer during public digs coordinated by the North Dakota Geological Survey.

Paleontologist John Hoganson says weather didn't cooperate and diggers didn't discover anything that hadn't been found before in the state.

But he says diggers found one interesting site on Forest Service land near Marmarth that contained remains of several types of dinosaurs.

The Minot Daily News says all the finds from the fossil digs go into the state collection at the North Dakota Heritage Center in Bismarck.
