UND employee hit by a car still in a coma

Grand Forks, ND (WDAY TV) - An update on a car – pedestrian accident on UND's campus. The UND employee who was hit is still in a coma, 5-days after the accident.

73-year-old Loran Carl was hit by a car driven by a 22-year-old U-N-D student. It happened on Campus Road Wednesday morning.

According to Carl's Caring Bridge site, He has a major injury to the left side of his brain, a broken leg, ribs, three fractured vertebrae in his neck, and multiple skull fractures. U-N-D police say morning sunlight glare may have contributed to the accident.
