UNDERWOOD, N.D. (AP) — A facility is being built at the Coal Creek power plant near Underwood to dry corn that will be used by Blue Flint Ethanol LLC to produce the fuel.

Al Christianson with Great River Energy says it's a partnership between his company and the Knorr family in the Underwood area. He says there is no other large drying facility in the region.

North Dakota Public Radio says the facility will be able to store 600,000 bushels of corn and dry 4,000 bushels per hour using natural gas.

Christianson says the facility should be ready for this fall's corn harvest.
