Former LaMoure police officers appeals sex with a minor conviction

LaMoure, ND (WDAY TV) - A former LaMoure police officer convicted for having sex with a minor multiple times and texting her explicit pictures is appealing his conviction to the North Dakota Supreme Court.
A judge sentenced 23-year old Kyle Mackey last month to 8 years in prison and he has to register as a sex offender.
Mackey resigned from the police department just a few days before he was arrested. Lamoure county officials say Mackey has hired a new attorney for the appeal. He filed the appeal with the court today.
