Bismarck archery deer hunt begins

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — Bismarck's deer bowhunting season opened Friday.

The goal of the urban hunt that runs through Jan. 31 is to lower the deer population in certain parts of the city to reduce problems such as car accidents and garden damage.

Other cities in the region including Fargo have similar hunts.
