Beet truck driver who ran red light in fatal crash is sentenced

Wahpeton, ND (WDAY TV) - A beet truck driver who ran a red light killing a teen will spend a year behind bars.

53-year-old Cathleen Dean of Barney changed her plea to guilty on the charges of negligent homicide.

Dean allegedly ran a red light at the intersection of the Highway 210 bypass in Wahpeton, hitting a car and killing 18-year-old Antoinette Gjesdahl.

Dean was sentenced to 5 years in prison, but most of that was suspended. She will serve one year and one day behind bars and 2 years supervised probation.
