Starting early, a main drag in Moorhead will have traffic delays.

Starting a 7:00 a.m, 5th Street south in Moorhead, from 3rd to 12th Avenue, will be down to one lane. The city's contractor will be paving the road. Construction will last two days and then the road will be open.

In the northern valley tomorrow, crews will start the last leg of the work on the new Thompson Bridge, which is set to open in a little over a month.

Contractors will start milling and removing the road approaching the bridge for a new alignment. Next week, the road will be shut down for about 24 days or until the new bridge opens. During that time there will be about a 20-mile detour to the south at the Buxton exit.

"It's going to be out of the way, but we need to be able to detour the traffic to tie the approaches together."

The new bridge is set to open October 1st.
