EAGAN, Minn. (AP) — A 34-year-old man was jailed after a three-hour police standoff that forced the evacuation of an Eagan apartment building.
Officers were called late Saturday on a report of a domestic assault involving a man who had displayed a handgun.
Police say the suspect remained inside the apartment with four young children. Police evacuated the building and tried to get the man to come outside, but he refused.
Negotiators managed to convince the man to come outside about 2:30 a.m. Sunday.
The man was arrested and taken to the Dakota County Jail.
Police say they never found a gun.
