Landlord discovers 12-foot python left behind by a tenant

Lisbon, ND (WDAY TV) - A startling discovery by a landlord in Lisbon. A 12-foot Burmese python, he says was left behind by a renter who packed up and took off.

A man was renting one of these apartments behind me and when he took off the snake be left behind was not your average house pet. The snake named Fantasia was found abandoned in a closet days after the man living here and keeping her as a pet simply left.

The daughter of the current owner says they were shocked when they heard the news.

Cassie Davidson: "Trying to find a good home for the animals, and a person who made him think that it was going to be a good home turned out it wasn’t so true."

The snake was sold to the man who abandoned her more than a month ago. When we went to visit her she was a bit shy and wouldn't come out of her cage. The current owners say it could have been worse if the snake got out in public.

Cassie Davidson: "Its abuse. At least she was locked in a closet and couldn't get out anywhere, but it really made us sad to hear that.

Now fantasia the snake is back in Forman with her original owner, looking for a new home. The owners say they are looking to sell Fantasia, or maybe donating her to a local Zoo.
