Barnes County voters to decide whether to consolidate schools(WDAY TV) - Two big decisions for Barnes County voters: whether to approve building a 14-and-a-half million dollar central pre-K through 12 location, and whether to give the school board the authority to apply for those bonds.

Students currently at North Central, Wimbledon and Spiritwood would attend the school near Leal. The measure, voted on September 20th, would not raise property taxes.
Consolidating the schools would save the district 1.7 million dollars and the yearly bond payment is about 1.5 million.
"From a transportation standpoint, if you have a central hub in the district, there is obviously going to be some students because they're closer to the site they're at that, they're rides are going to be a little bit longer, but we don't anticipate any ride being longer than an hour."
There are three public input meetings: Monday at 7:30 at North Central school, Wednesday, same time in Wimbledon and Thursday in Spiritwood.
