The Master Walleye Circuit Fishing Tournament in Devils Lake

Devils Lake, ND (WDAY TV) - Some children are learning from professional anglers what it takes to reel in the big ones. The "Master Walleye Circuit Fishing Tournament" is in Devils Lake.

12 young anglers wrote essays to be chosen to fish with the pro's and fish they did. The fishermen were on the water for four hours and could weigh their best five fish. Dylan Durbin won the tourney.

“We went with the wind we got a lot of bites then when we went against the wind we got no bites at all."

Chad Maloy: "There is so much other stuff to do now-a-days then when we were kids. We'd go fishing a lot more than probably a lot of these kids do."

The 12 young anglers caught more than 38 pounds of fish.
