Three part levy to give more options for voters
Perham, Minn. (WDAY TV) - Perham-Dent school district officials hope three times is the charm for a levy referendum.By: WDAY Staff Reports, WDAY
The 2010 levy vote will be broken into three questions:
Whether to approve: A 595 per pupil levy for programming, which would protect class sizes from increasing further, a 195 dollar per pupil for textbooks and technology, and a 195 per pupil levy for building repairs.
Classroom sizes are larger and activity fees are higher because of a budget crunch. More cuts are expected next year.
“Three part question recognizes the economy hasn't completely healed and recognizes that people want some control where their money goes.”
Uselman says a 595 per pupil levy would cost a homeowner in the district with a home valued at 125-thousand dollars about 110 dollars a year.
