Work on levee project to continue soonOakport Township, Minn. (WDAY TV) - Work should be starting up again soon on the Wall Street levee project in Oakport.

Crews have been on hold a couple weeks, waiting for a wetlands permit.
The construction project is west of Brentwood and Royln Acres. Once it's completed, it'll protect about 150 additional homes in Oakport up to 43 feet.
There will be some holes in the levee though, due to construction and road raising projects.
“What that would mean if we did have a spring flood, we could go in there and just build a very temporary levee at a very fraction of what we've had to do in the past.”
The project should be mostly completed by fall.
