Trial of the man accused of shooting Deputy Chris Dewey is postponed
(WDAY TV) - The trial for the man accused of shooting Mahnomen County Sheriff's Deputy Chris Dewey has been postponed. 33-year-old Thomas Fairbanks was supposed to stand trial on September 20th, but after Dewey died earlier this month and charges were amended.By: WDAY Staff Reports, WDAY
33-year-old Thomas Fairbanks was supposed to stand trial on September 20th, but after Dewey died earlier this month and charges were amended.
Fairbanks withdrew his demand for a speedy trial. A new trial date may not be set until it's clear whether he'll face a charge of 1st degree murder which requires a grand jury indictment.
