ND zoo officials boast litter of 5 Pallas kittens

FARGO, N.D. (AP) — The Red River Zoo in Fargo has added five Pallas cats to its collection.

The kittens were born at the zoo in June. Officials there say its the only zoo in North America to produce a Pallas litter so far this year.

Pallas cats are native to central Asia and have proven hard to breed in captivity. None of the kitten born in zoos in 2009 survived.
