Hopefuls for Minn. governor debate in business den

NISSWA, Minn. (AP) — Business leaders have a chance to assess the three main candidates for Minnesota governor, although their umbrella trade group has already taken sides.

NISSWA, Minn. (AP) — Business leaders have a chance to assess the three main candidates for Minnesota governor, although their umbrella trade group has already taken sides.

Republican Tom Emmer, Democrat Mark Dayton and the Independence Party's Tom Horner traveled north Tuesday for a Minnesota Chamber of Commerce debate near Brainerd. It's the third debate of the young general election season.

The chamber traditionally hosts a gubernatorial debate. The difference this time is that the business organization is explicitly tied to one of the candidates.

Chamber head David Olson leads a business-oriented political fund running ads supporting Emmer. The chamber has also contributed staff time to the effort.
