NHL tradition holds that each player gets to spend one day with the Cup the summer after winning it, and Byfuglien chose to bring it to the city where he grew up and learned to play the sport.
Byfuglien was one of the stars of Chicago's championship team this year. The Blackhawks beat the Philadelphia Flyers for their first Stanley Cup victory since 1961. Byfuglien was since traded to the Atlanta Thrashers.
