Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - A Fargo lawmaker will try again to get stricter driving laws for teens. Ed Gruchalla says he'll introduce a graduated driving license bill. North Dakota is the only state without one.

It would require six months to a year restrictions for young drivers. They wouldn't be able to drive with more than one unrelated juvenile, have electronic devices, or drive at night.

“I've seen it where for the first time we get an ice storm in the fall of the year or icy roads, and you'll see young drivers never had any experience on ice or snow out there driving around, running into vehicles because they don't know how to drive on ice or snow.”

Studies show the law would reduce crashes by half.
