The search is on for a much loved family dog

Fergus Falls, Minn. (WDAY TV) - The massive search is going on in Otter Tail County. It is a day and night effort to find a much loved family dog. The trouble is that the dog is blind. The 5-year old Golden Lab was rescued from the pound and had grown into a "prized" member of the family.

“Are there any good spots down here?”

With her two grand-daughters part of the search team, Laurie Risbrudt walks the downtown of Fergus Falls, trying to get the word out about Mozart.

“We lost our dog, just going around Fergus.”

Her missing, blind golden Lab cross. It was one month ago that Mozart bolted into the woods, chasing something. It was thundering and lightning. He is afraid of storms to he kept running and hasn't been seen since.

“Just a fabulous dog, quiet and doesn't bark which I am not sure is serving us real well right now when he is lost. He is a quiet dog that lies around and has a great personality.”

And so today, Laurie was stopping anyone who she thought could help get the word out.

“His name is Mozart. He is blind.”

While there have been sightings of a loose dog in and near Fergus Falls, Mozart has not been found.

“Mozart was rescued. He was a stray and was rescued. I hope those survivor skills and those are working to his advantage.”

Laurie provided foster care for Mozart and then later adopted the rescue dog. Once again, she is working to save his life and bring him back home. If you have any information on Mozart call 763--516-2431 or check out Mozart's Facebook page at: Find Mozart.
