(WDAY TV) - MN-DOT is planning to install traffic signals next summer at a Clay County intersection where two people died in a crash on Sunday.
After a double fatal accident at the same spot in 2007, officials started to study where County Highway 9 crosses Highway 10. They decided heavy traffic in the area warrants the stoplights.
The crossing has averaged about three crashes a year since 1980, including seven serious injury accidents and two fatal crashes. Right now, the intersection is controlled by stop signs and flashing overhead lights.
