Head-on crash in Steele County kills 1, injures 1
MAYVILLE, N.D. (AP) — A sport utility vehicle and a pickup truck collided on a Steele County gravel road, killing the driver of the SUV. The Highway Patrol says 28-year-old Samuel Leland of Portland died at the scene shortly after 5:30 p.m. Sunday.

The Highway Patrol says 28-year-old Samuel Leland of Portland died at the scene shortly after 5:30 p.m. Sunday.
The head-on crash happened on a gravel road south of state Highway 200. The 73-year-old Hope man who was driving the pickup, Truman Thykeson, was taken to a Mayville hospital with undisclosed injuries.
