Welcome home planned for Minn. troops
MONTEVIDEO, Minn. (AP) — A big welcome home is planned for Minnesota troops who recently returned from Iraq.
MONTEVIDEO, Minn. (AP) — A big welcome home is planned for Minnesota troops who recently returned from Iraq.
The entire 1st Battalion 151st Field Artillery Unit will have a homecoming ceremony and celebration Friday night in Montevideo (mawn-tuh-VIH'-dee-oh).
More than 600 soldiers from the Montevideo-based unit returned from Iraq in early April.
Gov. Tim Pawlenty, first lady Mary Pawlenty and Minnesota National Guard leader Maj. Gen. Larry Shellito (SHEHL'-uh-toh) are scheduled to speak at the event.
A dinner will follow, and the Johnny Holm Band will play afterward.
