USDA awards $24.4M to expand broadband in ND
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — The U.S. Department of Agriculture has awarded $24.4 million to two North Dakota projects that will expand access to broadband Internet service.
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — The U.S. Department of Agriculture has awarded $24.4 million to two North Dakota projects that will expand access to broadband Internet service.
The USDA announced the two grants Wednesday.
Griggs County Telephone will receive $22.1 million to provide access to high-speed Internet service in rural parts of eastern North Dakota. About 4,000 people are expected to benefit from that.
The other grant of $2.3 million will go to Inter-Community Telephone. It will be used to improve Internet access in the communities of Hope, Sanborn and Tower City. More than 850 people should benefit.
