Mary King Osterfield is celebrating her 99th birthday. Friends and fellow musicians surprised her with a party.

Mary is an accomplished violist and has been with the "F-M Symphony" for decades. She was born in Ireland, attended London's Royal Academy of Music and performed with the Birmingham Orchestra.

“Been wonderful, it really has. I might try for the next season because it will have all the music I love, all the great ones. I don't know if I will be able to do it but I will try.”

Mary has been playing and performing music more than 90-years. She won a first place piano prize at age 11. That would be in 1922.
